In case of breakdown

•    Call Domestic & General’s 24 hour customer care team on 08444 810 500 and their friendly customer service advisors will be happy to help you. When you call, please have your agreement number and a pen available.

•    The advisor will give you a referral number which you’ll then need to quote when you contact us in order to  arrange the collection of your existing product and delivery of your replacement product.


Terms and conditions apply. The key ones are:

•    Delivery or installation charges where a replacement product is provided;

•    Costs you may incur to dispose of your original product;

•    Loss or theft;

•    Malicious damage;

•    Cosmetic damage;

•    Damage caused by accident.


You may cancel the plan at any time before the end of your manufacturer’s (parts and labour) guarantee period and receive a full refund, unless your equipment has already been replaced or written-off.

You may cancel the plan at any time after the end of your manufacturer’s (parts and labour) guarantee period to, and we will refund a proportion of your plan fee relating to the remaining full months outstanding, unless your equipment has already been repaired, replaced or written-off.

You should be aware that extended warranties are available from other high street outlets, insurance companies and other providers. Cover may also be available for limited periods on some appliances from your credit card provider. Some household contents insurance policies offer cover for accidental damage, fire or theft. You may, however, find that an excess is payable and a claim may affect the cost of subsequent insurance premiums.


If you decide not to buy the plan when you buy your equipment, any quote we give you in writing will be available on the same terms and conditions for a further 30 days. Any offers, such as discounts and vouchers, which are linked to the purchase of the Plan will also remain available for that period. Under this plan, you have the entire period of the manufacturer’s guarantee in which to decide if you want to cancel the plan and receive a full refund. We will also send you a reminder about this right with your plan documentation.


At the end of your Plan, no renewal of the plan will be offered.


Domestic & General Services Limited is the provider of the plan. Should Domestic & General Services Limited become unable to meet its obligations under the plan, arrangements have been made to secure the performance of the obligations by Domestic & General Insurance PLC, an insurer authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.

With a high specification, including custom made components, the Yamaha AS501 has been created to surround even the largest rooms with rich sound. The 85 watt Yamaha gives a majestic sound quality with the scale and range of a much more expensive amp

Both optical and coaxial digital inputs are able connect up your TV, CD player or other source with digital output, add in the optional Yamaha YBA-11 Bluetooth receiver and you'll be able to effortlessly link up your smartphone, tablet or other Bluetooth equipped device, giving you wireless music streaming

In addition to the digital connections, the A-S501 comes with a wide range of other inputs and outputs .There are five line level inputs, two recording loops and a phono input for a turntable. More unusually in a stereo amplifier, there's also a subwoofer output. There is also a headphone output for privacy and convenience and a remote control which will operate other Yamaha products also

    This tells you the total power of an amplifier at a constant volume, e.g. some Hi-fi's display a high power output, but they can only keep to this volume (with a clear sound) for a certain length of time.
  • Dab Radio
    DAB Digital Audio Broadcasting, uses the latest digital transmitting methods giving you CD quality sound from your favourite radio stations. DAB also has the ability to transmit data in far greater detail than current RDS tuners. With DAB its possible to display scrolling text of the radio station or the program currently playing, graphics and even images of the CD cover of the track you are listening to. Some features are not available on all DAB receivers.

    Component Video is a connection method used for delivering high quality video images. This is the best available connection for DVD Video pictures.
  • Composite Video Connection
    Standard video signal used to send pictures eg from a VCR to a TV.
